A Little about me...
Tia is a multi-award winning performer who has performed throughout the Northwest from Northern California to Seattle Washington. She has been teaching workshops in the NW for 5 years now and regular weekly classes for 2 years. Tia draws inspiration from dancers all over the world including Zoe Jakes, Rachel Brice, Sandra, Rachel George, Aziza, and Didem… to name a few!
At the age of 17 Tia went to the Old World Deli in Corvallis OR on a whim to watch belly dancing for the very first time. There were many amazing dancers performing that night, but none as mesmerizing as Tina Empol. This proved to Tia then and there that a curvy woman could dance and be stunning at it! That’s when Tia began her belly dance journey.
Tia joined the Corvallis Belly Dance Performance Guild at the age of 18. She has been a member of this guild for 10 years in March.
She is one of the founding members in the TnTnS Belly Dance Productions group. She helps with organizing events and creating a warm, fuzzy, and professional environment for all of the people involved. She primarily creates the posters, takes pictures, organizes dancers /videographer/photographer and manages back stage, and decorates.
She is very active in the belly dance community. She is a member of MEDGE. Tia is an active dancer and helper in the Salem and Portland areas.Tia is always on the look out to make new friends, help/create more dance opportunities with multiple bands, and help new and more experienced dancers get more involved!
Tias dance style is considered to be a melting pot of technique and traditions. She likes to make her focus more about the emotional heart of the music.
